Booking & Reservations
How do I book a stay?
You can book directly through our website, or contact our team for help building your perfect Arctic holiday.
Simply choose your dates and igloo on the Stay page, or browse our ready-made Holiday Packages. If you’d prefer a tailor-made package with selected experiences, dining, and spa treatments, send us an inquiry and our team will reply within 24 hours.
Do you require a deposit, and when is payment due?
A booking becomes binding once payment is made, and the igloo is then reserved exclusively for your dates.
Because each igloo is held for a specific date, your reservation is confirmed upon payment and is not subject to the right of withdrawal under the Finnish Consumer Protection Act. For full details on payment timing, please see our cancellation and payment terms or contact sales@skyviewigloos.fi.
What is your cancellation policy?
Our cancellation terms depend on the season, so please read them carefully before booking.
During the Winter High Season (1 Dec – 6 Jan), all reservations are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled. In the Main Season (1 Aug – 30 Nov & 7 Jan – 6 Apr), cancellations more than 60 days before arrival are free, 31–60 days incur a 50% charge, and 30 days or less incur a 100% charge. In the Low Season (7 Apr – 31 Jul), cancellations more than 30 days ahead are free, 15–30 days incur 50%, and less than 15 days incur 100%. Full terms are available here.
Can I modify my booking after it's confirmed?
We’ll always do our best to accommodate changes, though availability and season terms apply.
If you need to adjust dates, guest numbers, or add experiences, contact us at sales@skyviewigloos.fi as early as possible. Please note that during the Winter High Season, reservations are binding and cannot be moved to a different date.
Why should I take out travel insurance?
Because life is unpredictable, and our cancellation policy does not allow refunds for unexpected events.
We do not refund payments for illness, transport disruptions, or other unforeseen issues, so we strongly recommend arranging travel insurance that covers cancellations and changes to your travel plans. It’s a small step that protects your investment in a once-in-a-lifetime trip.
Do you offer arrangements for groups?
Yes — we welcome groups and arrange dedicated experiences for larger parties.
For bookings of five or more igloos, separate group policies and possible additional charges apply, so please contact us in advance. You can also explore our group and corporate options for retreats, incentives, and celebrations.
Arrival & Getting Here
Where exactly is the resort located?
SkyView Igloo Resort sits in a peaceful forest setting just outside Rovaniemi, on the Arctic Circle.
Our address is Olleronvaarantie 66, 96100 Rovaniemi, surrounded by Lappish nature yet close to the city and airport. The location offers dark, open skies that make it one of the best places in Finland to watch the Northern Lights.
How far is the resort from Rovaniemi Airport?
SkyView Igloo Resort is just a short drive from Rovaniemi Airport.
We’re located approximately a 20–25 minute drive from Rovaniemi Airport (RVN), which connects directly to Helsinki and several European cities. We’re happy to arrange a private airport transfer for a smooth, hassle-free arrival — just share your flight details when booking.
Do you offer airport transfers?
Yes — we can arrange a private transfer between Rovaniemi Airport and the resort.
Let us know your flight details when you book and we’ll organise a comfortable, pre-arranged pickup so you can start your holiday the moment you land. Transfers can also be arranged for departures and day excursions on request.
Can I rent a car?
We don’t provide rental cars directly, but they’re easy to arrange in Rovaniemi.
If you’d like the freedom to explore on your own, we recommend booking a vehicle in advance from a car rental provider at Rovaniemi Airport or in the city centre. Keep in mind that winter driving in Lapland requires care, and roads are best tackled in daylight when possible.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in starts at 4:00 PM and check-out is by 12:00 PM (noon).
If you have special requests regarding arrival or departure times, just contact us after booking — we’ll do our best to accommodate you. Early arrivals and late departures may be possible depending on availability.
The Igloos & Accommodation
What is included in the price?
Your stay includes everything you need for a comfortable Arctic night, plus a delicious daily breakfast.
Every reservation comes with bed linens, towels, and daily cleaning. Additional perks—like having breakfast delivered straight to your igloo, extra meals, or transport—can be booked separately to build your ideal holiday.
What amenities does the igloo have?
Each SkyView Igloo is a private, fully equipped suite designed for comfort under the Arctic sky.
You’ll enjoy a 360° glass-roof bedroom, a private sauna and outdoor jacuzzi, a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, panoramic forest views, daily breakfast, and 24/7 WhatsApp guest support throughout your stay.
Can you see the aurora from the igloo?
Yes — the igloo is designed as a cozy space where you can enjoy the aurora right from your bed.
Please be aware that the aurora is a natural phenomenon only visible with a clear sky and decent solar activity. If the sky over SkyView is cloudy, the igloo unfortunately won’t help you see it — in that case, the best option is to join one of our guided Tours that chase clear skies away from the resort.
Is there a private sauna and jacuzzi?
Yes — each igloo features its own private sauna and an outdoor jacuzzi.
There’s nothing quite like warming up in your private sauna and then relaxing in the outdoor jacuzzi under a star-filled or aurora-lit sky. Both are reserved exclusively for the guests of your igloo.
Is there a kitchen?
Yes — every igloo has a fully equipped kitchen and dining area.
You’ll have everything you need to prepare drinks and meals during your stay. Your included daily breakfast is served nearby, and you can also purchase upgrades like igloo breakfast delivery, a private chef dinner, or meals in a traditional kota.
How many guests can stay in one igloo?
Our igloos are designed for couples and small families seeking an intimate Arctic escape.
For exact occupancy and family-friendly configurations, please check the Stay page or contact our team — we’ll help match you with the right igloo for your group.
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes — Wi-Fi is available so you can stay connected and share your Arctic moments.
While the magic of Lapland is best enjoyed by looking up at the sky, you’ll have internet access for navigation, planning, and uploading those aurora photos.
Are the igloos warm enough in the Arctic winter?
Absolutely — the igloos are well-insulated and kept warm and cozy even on the coldest nights.
Each igloo is equipped with modern heating systems to ensure a comfortable stay regardless of the temperature outside. You can watch the snow fall and the aurora dance while staying perfectly warm beneath the glass roof.
What is not available in the igloos?
The igloos do not include a washing machine or a fireplace.
If you need to do laundry during your stay, nearby laundromats in Rovaniemi offer convenient services. There is no fireplace, but the igloo’s modern heating keeps it warm throughout your stay. We also don’t provide rental cars directly — these can be booked from local providers at the airport or city centre.
Is the resort non-smoking?
Yes — our igloos are non-smoking to keep the space fresh and comfortable for every guest.
Please use the designated outdoor areas if you wish to smoke. This helps us protect the air quality and comfort of the accommodation for all visitors.
Northern Lights & Weather
When is the best time to visit Lapland?
Lapland is a year-round destination, but each season offers a completely different kind of magic.
For the Northern Lights and snow, the season runs roughly from late August to early April, peaking in the dark winter months. Summer brings the Midnight Sun and endless daylight, while autumn offers crisp colours and quieter trails. Tell us what you’re hoping to experience and we’ll help you choose the perfect time.
When is the best time to see the Northern Lights?
The aurora season in Lapland typically runs from late August through early April.
The lights are most likely on clear, dark nights with active solar conditions, and the long Arctic nights of winter offer the best viewing windows. While nature never guarantees a show, our location and guided aurora hunts maximise your chances.
Can you guarantee we'll see the Northern Lights?
No one can guarantee the aurora — it’s a natural phenomenon that depends on clear skies and solar activity.
What we can promise is that we’ll give you the best possible chance: a dark-sky location, glass-roof igloos, and guided Northern Lights hunts that travel to find clearer skies when the weather at the resort isn’t cooperating.
What happens if the weather conditions change?
Your stay is in safe hands — we adapt every activity to the conditions, and the Arctic rarely disappoints.
Lapland weather can shift quickly, so our guides monitor conditions closely and may adjust timing or routes to keep you safe and comfortable. If an activity has to be rescheduled or replaced for safety reasons, we’ll always offer an alternative or arrange it for another time during your stay.
How cold does it get?
Arctic winters are cold, but with the right gear it’s all part of the adventure.
Temperatures typically range from a few degrees below zero to well below −20 °C in deep winter, occasionally colder. We provide insulated outerwear and winter boots for guided activities, and your igloo stays warm and cozy throughout, so you can enjoy the cold without ever being uncomfortable.
How much daylight is there in winter?
Winter days are short and softly lit, which is exactly what makes the aurora possible.
Around midwinter, Rovaniemi has only a few hours of twilight-like daylight, bathing the landscape in beautiful blue and pink tones. The long, dark nights are ideal for Northern Lights viewing, while the low sun creates a magical atmosphere during the day.
Activities & Experiences
What activities are available?
We offer a full range of Arctic experiences, from gentle to adventurous.
Choose from husky safaris, reindeer sleigh rides, snowmobile expeditions, ice fishing, Northern Lights hunts, snowshoe hikes, and visits to Santa Claus Village and Ranua Wildlife Park. Browse them all on our Experiences page, or let us bundle them into a tailor-made package.
How physically demanding are the activities?
Most of our experiences are suitable for all fitness levels and require no special preparation.
Activities like Northern Lights hunts, reindeer sleigh rides, and ice fishing are gentle and relaxed, while husky safaris and snowmobile expeditions are a little more active but still beginner-friendly. If you have limited mobility or any health concerns, let us know in advance — we’ll recommend the experiences that suit you best and tailor your itinerary accordingly.
Are winter clothing and boots included?
Yes — warm Arctic outerwear and winter boots are provided for all guided activities.
When you join any guided tour, you’ll be fitted with insulated thermal overalls, winter boots, gloves, and a hat so you stay comfortable in deep sub-zero temperatures. We just ask that you bring your own warm base layers and wool socks. Sizes range from children’s to adults, and our team helps you find the right fit on arrival.
Do we need previous experience for husky sledding or snowmobiling?
No experience is needed — our guides give you full instruction before you set off.
For snowmobiling, a valid driver’s licence is required to drive your own machine, and our team will walk you through the controls and safety basics first. Husky and reindeer experiences are guided throughout, so all you need to bring is your sense of adventure.
Are the activities suitable for children?
Yes — many of our experiences are wonderful for families with children.
Gentle activities like reindeer sleigh rides, husky visits, and the Santa Claus Village tour are especially loved by younger guests, and our Family Lapland Adventure package is designed with children in mind. Let us know your children’s ages and we’ll recommend the best experiences for them.
Can our holiday package be tailored?
Yes — we specialise in creating personalised Arctic holidays.
Alongside our ready-made packages, you can build a tailor-made holiday by selecting your preferred accommodation, experiences, dining, and spa treatments. Send us an inquiry with your dates and interests, and our team will design a package and reply within 24 hours.
Dining
What dining options are available?
Enjoy gourmet Arctic cuisine at our on-site Restaurant Aura, plus a range of special dining experiences.
From à la carte dining at Restaurant Aura to a private chef dinner, a meal in a traditional kota, or a bonfire evening, there’s something for every occasion. You can also add half board, full board, or all-inclusive dining to your stay.
Is breakfast included?
Yes — a delicious breakfast is included with every stay, with the option to purchase delivery straight to your igloo.
Wake up and enjoy your morning meal beneath the glass roof, without leaving the comfort of your suite. Additional meals can be booked separately or added as a board option.
Can you cater to dietary restrictions and allergies?
Yes — we’re happy to accommodate dietary needs and allergies with advance notice.
Whether you’re vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or have specific allergies, just let us know when booking and our kitchen will prepare options to suit you. The more notice we have, the better we can tailor your dining experience.
Can meals be delivered to the igloo?
Yes — both breakfast delivery and custom in-suite dining are available as optional upgrades.
Beyond the included breakfast, you can add experiences like breakfast delivered to the igloo or a private chef dinner for a truly private and memorable meal under the Arctic sky.
Arctic Spa Culta & Wellness
What is Arctic Spa Culta?
Arctic Spa Culta is our dedicated wellness retreat for relaxation in the heart of Lapland.
Unwind with evening spa experiences, or an Arctic daylight session with lunch. It’s the perfect complement to a day of activities, helping you relax and recharge during your stay. Learn more on the Arctic Spa Culta page.
Should I book spa treatments in advance?
Yes — we recommend reserving spa treatments ahead to secure your preferred time.
Spa experiences can be added to your holiday package or booked alongside your stay. Booking early ensures availability, especially during busy season — just include your preferences in your inquiry.
Practical Information
What should we pack for our Arctic stay?
Pack warm base layers and personal essentials — we’ll provide the heavy-duty Arctic gear.
We recommend thermal underwear, wool socks, a warm sweater, gloves, a hat, and a scarf, plus comfortable indoor clothing for relaxing in your igloo. Don’t forget swimwear for the private sauna and jacuzzi, any personal medication, and your camera for the Northern Lights. Insulated outerwear and winter boots are provided for guided activities, so there’s no need to invest in expensive winter clothing beforehand.
Is laundry available at the resort?
There is no washing machine in the igloos, but laundry services are available nearby.
If you need to do laundry during your stay, laundromats in Rovaniemi offer convenient options. For longer stays, we’re happy to point you toward the nearest services.
